Asakusa

Since I didn't go anywhere during the last weekend, I decided to make a trip to Asakusa when Nozawa-san offered to be my tourist guide in the evening eventhough it's quite a day when I had an interview for an article for the university's newsletter in the morning and proceeded with my research soon after that. Despite knowing that I'd be tired, receiving a call from Ameer asking for more toys suddenly gave me the urge to go since Akihabara is just 5 minutes away from Asakusa.

So I made my 2nd trip to Akihabara after visiting Asakusa and went to Yodobashi to get more toys for my little boy. So that's it! No more toys until your birthday!

Tanabata Festival

Hari ni Tanabata Festival (star festival) ....some places ada buat sambutan but here tak de pun la. Kononnya pd hari ni 2 bintang (one prince and one princess) yang dipisahkan oleh Milky Way dibenarkan bertemu. Biasanya orang2 kat sini akan sambut dgn menulis wishes on a piece of paper then gantung kat pokok buluh with other decoration (biasanya origami lah).

(ni in pantry aka common room aka store room in the lab)
Ni pokok buluh yg Nakata-san bawak dr rumah dia. She brought along all the origami papers etc. Last Thursday dia suh semua org tulis the wishes and gantung kat pokok tu. I did mine too! :) Then she asked me to do some origami as well. So I did Suika (tembikai) and hoshijirushi(star) and hung it on the three. Takahashi-san taught me how to do another version of kotori(bird) where you can flip the wings when you pull the tail. He said he did a lot of origami during his childhood. Interesting!

Anyway, dd bg lagu ni kat ummi td:

Akihabara

The Electric Town. Indeed this place is filled up with many electronics and electrical gadgets. Bukan tu jer...all anime characters, mangga to other kawaii stuff pun ada. Ummi dtg sini dgn hati yg tertutup :P I had set with what I wanted and just hope I wont regret about it later... mmg rambang mata kat sini  Nasib dd tak de, kalau tak, I'm sure we would end up with empty wallet!LOL

Nash, Riza & me spent nearly 6 hours here...hopping from one store to another looking for great bargain. I ended up with 2 pair of swatches and more souvenirs! :D

and of course, the long awaited toy ;) Alhamdulilaah. Eventho I still miss 1 part. Dd leh ckp "Aik? Akihabara punya besar tu pun tak de? Mustahil!" :head_bang:
It's getting the right thing at the right cost from thousands of stores while I'm 19 weeks pregnant yg buat mission tu a bit impossible :P tambahan canon is very popular sekejap je kena sapu ngan org..the body..the lenses...accesories...everything!

Roppongi-Part 2

Lepas dah shopping for souvenirs, we headed to Roppongi to buy some stuff at Hard Rock Cafe, Tokyo.

After getting tshirts for Ameer, DD and atok, we went to Roppongi Hill. Kat sini ada shopping mall jugak and lots of cafe.

Area ni ada meeting point where they have popular sculpture of a spider.

and from this hill, we can see the Tokyo Tower. Tp ummi tak sampai la pun ke Tokyo Tower tu pasal jauh.

Lepas hampir 5 jam berjln dgn cuaca yg amat panas (mcm suh M'sia je) ummi decided to go back. Muka ummi pun dah jd mcm udang kena bakar saje :P

To Nozawa-san, thank you for bringing me here. I had a blast! Arigato Gozaimasu!

The damage done:

Sedia maklum Tokyo amat mahal and none of this is mine!! Paling byk, ameer lah kan :D

Anyway, I gtg have a good rest. Tomorrow is my day! Will be going to Akihabara to hunt a new toy!!!!:D

Harajuku - Part 1

Harajuku is known for its youth style and fashion. There two main shopping streets here... Omatesando Hill & Takeshita St. Biasanya kalau weekend this place dipenuhi oleh bizarre people with bizarre fashion...kira cam street show. So hari ni, kira no show lah. But I just wanna see the place.
My Japanese friend, Nozawa-san was glad to be my tourist guide for today. So the first place we went was Takeshita St. I can still remember the smell of the delightful Harajuku Crepe!

ada byk Crepe shop kat sini.

Then we headed to Harajuku St. Tujuan ke sini nak gi Oriental bazaar a place where they sell souvenirs.

Then we visited Meiji Jingu. It sort of like a big park. Byk tourist dtg sini.

Dinner...

Homemade Seafood Pasta.

Ingredient: Spaghetti, prawn, squid, diced tomatoes, fresh oregano, onion, black pepper, salt & sugar to taste.

Everything is fresh with no instant ingredient and it tastes good! I feel like a Naked Chef already :P

The dinner was served with a glass of Calpis Water. (Ni Nash yg introduced). It's Japanese uncarbonated soft drink made from water, nonfat dry milk, and lactic acid, and is produced by lactic fermentation. It tastes like yogurt with slightly milky and acidic flavour. Perhaps a lighter version of natural lassi.

Oh, the baby is kicking! Be patient, I'll top up another plate of pasta for you :D

Skang tgh sale kan???? NOT FAIRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!! :annoyed: I'm here with some money but I can't shop because I have to get a new cammie!!! Uwaaaaa!!!!!

Shopping!

Nash & Riza were going to buy some stuff for the kids at one of kids&infant stores, named Akachan at Shinagawa. Although I knew I'd make some damage to the wallet, I thought what the heck, retail therapy is good! :P. So we hoped on a densha from Ishikawadai St. to Osaki-Hirokoji St. and straight to the mall. Then I had soba at one of the restaurants before we stopped by at Book Off.

For a couple of hundreds, I got my son Anpanman Set(Famous Japanese Cartoon Character), 2 Ultra Monsters from the Ultraman series, 2 Ultramans and 2 pairs of Yukata (Japanase Summer Kimono). I also bought 2 pairs of girl's Yukata, one for Tasnim and another pair for me to keep for myself :D. I am a happy mother. :D
